AFA Teens Video Scholarship Competition:  To enter, submit an autobiography and create a video of two minutes or less that conveys a moment in relation to Alzheimer’s.

Foreclosure.com Scholarship:  Submit an 800-2000 word essay on the following topic:  “You’ve acquired $150,000 in cash to be used specifically for a distressed real estate purchase.  Outline a detailed strategy that ensures the maximum return on investment, whether it’s in terms of financial profit or personal satisfaction, or both.”  The five best plans will be sent to the U.S. Department of Education.

Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest:  Applicants may enter photographs in any of the five categories:  Altered images, Americana, the Natural World, People and Travel.  Winners earn $500 and their work printed in Smithsonian magazine and work exhibited in the Smithsonian Institution.

Apprentice Ecologist Initiative Scholarship: Conduct your own environmental stewardship project in 2011, take digital photos of your project in action, and write an essay about your project and what it meant to you.

Jewish Vocational Service (JVS) Scholarship: To apply, submit the JVS online application including a letter of recommendation, essay, transcript and some additional supplemental materials.

Deadline:  March 12, 2012

For: Jewish full-time students at least 16 years old who are US citizens or permanent legal residents and have resided in CA for a minimum of 2 years.  Students must have a minimum GPA of 2.7 and demonstrated financial need.

Scholarship Amount: Based on need, scholarships range from $1,000-$5,000
